ARCOW Back Stretcher

Actively correct rounded back – while seated.

Dynamic thoracic spine extension – controlled, reproducible, professional

For gyms, therapy centers and rehab facilities: a training and therapy system designed to support rounded back (thoracic hyperkyphosis) correction.

The Back Stretcher is a motor-driven system for active posture improvement. A linearly guided roller unit moves in a controlled manner along the spine – with adjustable intensity and clearly defined movement workflows. This supports thoracic spine extension and functionally mobilizes the posterior musculature.

Bandscheiben & Bewegung: Intervertebral discs are primarily nourished via diffusion – movement and alternating pressure/unloading can support this physiological exchange. For this, the Back Stretcher combines targeted mobilization with repeatable loading and unloading phases.

How the Back Stretcher works

1) Dynamic mobilization while seated

A linearly guided roller unit is motor-driven along stable linear guides. The rollers follow the back line and create smooth, controlled mobilization along the spine.

2) Einstellbare Intensität & reproduzierbare Abläufe

Intensity is adjusted via seat/tilt position and motion parameters. This enables standardized, repeatable sessions – ideal for professional operation. Control is provided via a tablet and app, allowing movement profile, speed, stroke range and intensity to be set quickly and reproducibly – ideal for standardized workflows in gyms and therapy centers.

3) Focus: thoracic extension for rounded back

The goal is supported thoracic extension and mobilization of shortened structures, often seen with rounded-back posture, sedentary work or unilateral loading.

4) Bewegung & Druckwechsel

Rhythmic loading and unloading can support the physiological conditions for fluid exchange within disc tissue – as a useful complement to training and therapy.

Benefits for posture, spine and training quality

  • Rounded-back focus: Supports active thoracic extension through dynamic mobilization.
  • Functional relief: Mobilizes posterior musculature and may reduce tension.
  • Improve mobility: Supports segmental mobility and promotes upright posture.
  • Support disc physiology: Movement and pressure variation may encourage nutrient/fluid exchange.
  • Professional-ready: Adjustable, reproducible, standardized workflows – suitable for gyms and therapy centers.

Note: The Back Stretcher is a supportive training and therapy device and does not replace medical treatment. For existing spinal conditions, use should be coordinated with qualified professionals.

Designed for gyms, therapy centers and rehab

The Back Stretcher is designed for professional use – as a dedicated mobilization station or as a complement to strength, posture and prevention programs. With controlled motion guidance and adjustable intensity, sessions can be adapted to different user profiles. For the system, a patent application was filed in February 2025.

For gyms
  • Posture station within a training circuit
  • Counterbalance for sedentary work / office routines
  • Complement to back and core training
  • Standardized sessions for members
For therapy centers
  • Supportive mobilization for rounded-back posture
  • As part of prevention and rehab concepts
  • Reproducible workflows suitable for documentation
  • Adjustable intensity (gentle to more intensive)
